Author's Note: The setting for this series of 7 fics is a fictional Summer Quidditch Camp. It's AU all the way around! In no way does this story affect any other Hufflepuff story currently being written by this author and should not be taken as a change in OTP.
He held the ribbon in his hand, just out of her reach. “This is yellow,” he said as if she’d committed a sin by wearing it in her hair.
“Glad you noticed.” She heard the snarkiness in her voice but didn’t try to disguise it. All afternoon, he’d haunted her every move. Didn’t he know he was supposed to be following the snitch instead of her?
“Want it back?”
She didn’t think she did… but felt that it would be strange to walk around with only one braid decorated. After all, the summer was when she felt the need to clutch to her House affiliation closer than usual. In the end, her irritation won out. “Why don’t you keep it, Gryffindor.”
As far as she knew, he was still holding out the ribbon as she turned the corner to enter the campsite where she and Susan and the others were staying.
